50 years of CHROMOLUX

When CHROMOLUX arrived on the market in 1958 the name soon turned out to be a real stroke of luck. "Chromo" stands for the innovative method by which the paper or cartonboard web is dried using a heated chromium cylinder, thus achieving luxurious gloss and smoothness. "Lux" is Latin for “light” and alludes to the unique surface quality of CHROMOLUX. 50 years later the brand name has become a synonym for cast coated fine papers.
